Sofia Varga is a visual artist who creates under her mother’s name — a quiet homage to her late mother’s strength and grace. She was first introduced to the arts, including drawing, painting, and lamp-making, in her 20s by a wonderful teacher, although in her younger years, she never imagined she had the talent to make art herself.

Years later, she returned to art with an open heart, discovering it as a language of healing and transformation. Through her work, Sofia explores the contradictions of being human — the joy and pain, the calm and the chaos — and seeks to translate those emotions into form and color.

Her paintings move between portraiture and abstraction, blending intuition with control. By experimenting with acrylics, resin, and fluid techniques, she embraces imperfection and chance as part of the creative process. Each piece becomes a quiet reflection on what it means to feel deeply, to let go, and to simply exist within the beauty and ache of being alive.
